This crucial act allowed the Marine Rescue vessel and the RAC rescue helicopter to pinpoint the exact location of the distressed kayaker, showing the vital importance of carrying safety equipment during such expeditions.
Despite the swift response and the valiant efforts of the rescue team, who provided emergency first aid, the young man could not be revived. The community of Dawesville is left mourning the loss of a life too young.
