SE Dawesville Foreshore Opening
The South East Dawesville Foreshore opening event was an absolute hit, bringing our community together for a good time.
The much-anticipated opening of the South East Dawesville Foreshore had finally arrived, and the community came together to celebrate with a fun-filled event. On Saturday, 26 July 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, the foreshore came alive with activities, entertainment, and plenty of opportunities for neighbours to connect.
What Happened?
The Play by the Bay event delivered something for everyone. Here’s what attendees enjoyed:
- Free Sausage Sizzle: Snags were cooked up by the Falcon Lions Club.
- Coffee Van: Complimentary coffee was served while people mingled.
- Live Music: Local artist Danny Bau entertained the crowd with his tunes.
- Family Fun: Kids and the young at heart enjoyed face-painting, bungee trampolines, a rock climbing wall, and giant games.
- Community Chat: Locals had their say and chatted with Councillors about what mattered to them.
A New Community Hub
The South East Dawesville Foreshore had undergone a stunning transformation, turning the space along Estuary Road into a vibrant hub for families and locals. The new features included a large playground, basketball and netball half courts, grassed picnic areas, and barbecue shelters. It quickly became a favourite spot for creating memories by the water.
The design of the foreshore reflected the natural beauty of Dawesville. No trees were removed during construction, and 66 native trees along with 4,000 native plants were planted. Wide, connected paths and additional parking (including ACROD bays) ensured accessibility for everyone.
