The Dawesville Foreshore Project is well underway, transforming our beautiful waterfront into a vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike. The upgrades aim to enhance the area’s natural charm while creating a space that everyone can enjoy. With construction progressing steadily, residents are beginning to see the vision take shape along the water’s edge.

From improved recreational facilities to environmental restoration, this project promises to make the foreshore a welcoming gathering place for the entire community.

Community Input Shaping the Vision

One of the standout aspects of the Dawesville Foreshore Project is its strong focus on community involvement. Throughout the planning phase, locals were invited to share their thoughts through workshops, surveys, and drop-in sessions. These contributions have directly influenced key features of the design, ensuring the foreshore meets the needs of everyone from young families to retirees.

Ideas gathered from community members inspired additions like inclusive play areas, improved accessibility, and enhanced spaces for gathering and recreation. 

Current Progress and Upgrades

Construction crews are making strides across several areas of the foreshore.

• Play Spaces: New playground equipment is being installed to cater to kids of all ages, with nature-inspired designs sparking creativity and active play.
• Pathways and Boardwalks: Wider footpaths and a picturesque boardwalk are coming to life, making the waterfront easier to explore by foot or bike.
• Picnic and BBQ Areas: Shaded picnic shelters and updated BBQ facilities are set to create a perfect setting for weekend gatherings with family and friends.
• Environmental Restoration: Native vegetation is being planted to support local ecosystems and enhance the area’s natural beauty for years to come.

The first stage of improvements is expected to wrap up soon, with more features forthcoming. The community can also look forward to hands-on opportunities like native planting days and public art projects, designed to celebrate Dawesville’s unique identity and encourage pride in our shared space.
