If you're in search of a beach, look no further than Tim's Thicket, located roughly 70kms south of Perth and just 15kms south of Mandurah. To get there, you'll need to take the connecting 4WD track, but be sure to lower your tire pressure first to prevent getting stuck in the sand. The track continues for about 2kms south until you reach a small limestone reef, which can only be passed during low tide. If you've missed the window, it's best to turn back. If you do manage to pass the reef, you'll eventually link back to Yalgorup National Park and back to where you started. Keep in mind that 4WDing is prohibited in the dunes and only permitted on the beach. No other vehicles, including dirt bikes, 4-wheelers or buggies are allowed. Overall, Tim's Thicket is a perfect getaway for those seeking a peaceful and untouched beach experience.
